Gold drops around 1% at the beginning of a new week and tests local lows from the beginning of June. US dollar strengthening can be named as a reason behind the drop - EURUSD tested 1.21 area. Interestingly, gold drops and USD gains while US yields remain low - 10-year yield approaches 1.4%. FOMC will announce monetary policy decision on Wednesday, 7:00 pm BST. Today's move on gold and USD is somewhat puzzling as the market expects the Fed to maintain its dovish stance.
