  • US indices finished yesterday's trading lower. S&P 500 dropped 0.92%, Dow Jones and Nasdaq moved 0.94% lower each while Russell 2000 dropped 0.31%

  • Stocks in Asia traded mixed. Nikkei and S&P/ASX 200 dropped while Kospi and indices from China advanced

  • DAX futures point to a lower opening of the European session

  • Media reports hinted that Biden administration will propose rising capital gains tax rate for rich individuals to 39.6% - almost double the current rate

  • United Arab Emirates and New Zealand banned incoming flights and arrivals from India due to surging cases of a new Covid-19 variant in the country. 55 cases of the so-called Indian mutations were reported in the United Kingdom last week

  • 3 rockets have hit a military base in Baghdad where US troops are located. There are no reports of injuries or casualties

  • Bitcoin dropped below $50,000 and trades at the lowest level since the beginning of March. There are rumours saying that United States may impose tax on cryptocurrency gains

  • Politico reports that California plans to ban new fracking permits

  • Japanese manufacturing PMI index for April jumped from 52.7 to 53.3. Services PMI remained unchanged at 48.3

  • Precious metals trade mixed - gold and platinum gain while silver and palladium drop. Oil and industrial metals trade higher

  • AUD and NZD are the best performing major currencies while CHF and USD lag the most
