  • Stocks in Asia traded higher during the first session of the week. Nikkei gained almost 0.7%, S&P/ASX 200 around 0.4% and Kospi rallied 2.3%. Indices from China moved higher

  • DAX futures point to a slightly higher opening of the European session

  • According to Reuters report, Joe Biden is set to announce entry ban to non-US citizens travelling from South Africa, Brazil and most of the European countries

  • According to media reports, Italian Prime Minister Conte may resign and form a new government afterwards

  • Media hint that French President Macron may announce a third lockdown of the country this week

  • Iraq may cut oil production in January and February to make up for earlier non-compliance with the OPEC+ deal

  • China authorised its coastguard to fire on foreign vessels in the South China Sea and East China Sea. In other news it was reported that US aircraft carrier has entered South China Sea

  • According to Global Times, China will carry out large scale tests of digital currency this year

  • Bitcoin trades near $33,000 mark

  • Oil trades higher while precious metals drop slightly

  • AUD and NZD are top performing major currencies while CHF and USD are top laggards
