Pound moves higher as PM May speaks

The British currency is recovering from the morning lows when the vote of no confidence was called. Speaking in the Parliament PM Theresa May said that she rules out a second referendum on Brexit as well as general elections at this point because it would not be in national interest. In turn, as much as 158 Tory lawmakers are to back PM May in today’s voting, according to BBC. It means that Theresa May is likely to survive the voting. The GBP is trading 0.65% higher against the US dollar as of 12:24 pm GMT.
