Equities rally on Pfizer/BioNTech announcement
US and European stock markets surged following announcements from Pfizer and BioNTech. Companies said that a vaccine developed by them has over 90% efficiency in preventing Covid-19 and that they will seek emergency approval from the United States. It is expected that up to 50 million doses will be produced this year while another 1.3 billion doses will be produced in 2021. US500 surged over 50 points on the news and trades at a fresh all-time high. DE30 rallied over 300 points on the news and broke above 13,000 pts.
