The Lagarde (after the ECB's decision) and Powell (at the Cato Institute) press conferences on monetary policy are currently underway. Lagarde is not very hawkish, although she says the rates are not yet at a neutral level. However, Lagarde points out that the recent hike was something abnormal and will not be standard.
In turn, Powell seems to be hawkish: he warns against premature search for loose monetary policy, points to the need to continue fighting inflation and speaks of a strong labor market. The market is already pricing-in 80% chance for a 75 bp hike on September 21 by the Fed.
