USD sees little reaction to claims and Philly Fed data

The number of Americans filling for unemployment benefits was  0.248million in the week ended February 12, compared to 0.225 million reported in the previous week. Today’s reading came in above market expectations of 0.219 million. 

Continuing claims reading, which lags initial jobless claims data by one week, dropped to 1.593 million from 1,621 million, while analysts expected a decrease to 1.605 million. 

The Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Index decreased to 16 in February from 23.2 in January and below market expectations of 20.

Housing starts for January came in at 1.638m, compared to market estimates of 1.7m. Building permits at 1.899m much higher than expected 1.76m

 EURUSD saw a relatively small reaction to today’s data releases. The most popular currency pair continued to trade around 1.1365 level. Source: xStation5
