BREAKING: Canada inflation rate below expectations

Canadian inflation data was released at 1.30pm BST. Annual inflation decreased to 0.1% y / y from  0.7% y / y, although inflation was expected to increase  to 0.6% y / y in July.  In monthly terms, inflation was 0.00 % MoM from 0.8% MoM, while analysts expected 0.4% increase.
USDCAD saw relatively small reaction to today’s data releases and the currency pair continued to trade around 1.3150 level. Source: xStation5
