Rhe four-week moving average stood at 231,000, reflecting an increase of 2,750 from the unrevised average of 228,250 in the previous week. Continuing claims, on the other hand, experienced an 8,000 decline in the week ending July 29, reaching a total of 1.68 million. This reading was better than the market's estimate. The four-week moving average for continuing claims was 1,701,000, demonstrating a decrease of 9,250 from the revised average of the previous week.
