Economic calendar: US CPI inflation report on Tuesday key event of the week 📌

8:31 AM 11 March 2024

There are no major macroeconomic releases ahead of us today that could affect global market volatility. However, this week investors will get to know some interesting reports.

Last week was important for the Fed due to the release of labor market reports, while this week we will learn detailed inflation data. On Tuesday at 12:30 PM GMT, the February consumer inflation report will be published. For the headline measure, the consensus is 3.1% y/y, which is unchanged from the reading a month ago. However, more positive data are the expected for core inflation at 3.7% y/y, down from 3.9% y/y in January.

The next inflation report this week is PPI, which will be announced on Thursday. Headline producer inflation is expected to be 1.2% y/y in February, while the core measure is expected to be 2.0% y/y.
