Economic calendar: US data dump ahead of Thanksgiving holiday

European futures markets point to a more or less flat opening of today's cash session. While there are no key releases scheduled for the European session, a lot of data will be published in the afternoon. US is heading for the Thanksgiving holiday (US stock market will be close tomorrow and will open for only half a day on Friday) and because of that we will see an avalanche of data today. FOMC minutes release tops the calendar.

9:00 am GMT - Poland, unemployment rate for October. Expected: 6.1%. Previous: 6.1%

1:30 pm GMT - US, jobless claims. Expected: 730k. Previous: 742k

1:30 pm GMT - US, durable goods orders for October.

  • Headline. Expected: 0.9% MoM. Previous: 1.9% MoM

  • Ex-transportation. Expected: 0.5% MoM. Previous: 0.9% MoM

1:30 pm GMT - US, Q3 GDP report revision. First release: 33.1% QoQ annualized

3:00 pm GMT - US, core PCE inflation for October. Expected: 1.4% YoY. Previous: 1.5% YoY

3:00 pm GMT - US, new home sales for October. Expected: 970k. Previous: 959k

3:00 pm GMT - US, University of Michigan consumer sentiment for November (final). First release: 77

3:30 pm GMT - DOE report on oil inventories.

  • Oil inventories. Expected: -0.3 mb

  • Gasoline inventories. Expected: +0.15 mb

  • Distillate inventories. Expected: -0.8 mb

7:00 pm GMT - FOMC minutes.
