Germany unemployment slightly higher but in line with expectations

The number of unemployed in Germany rose by about 5,000 in December, with the unemployment rate holding slightly higher. Overall, employment conditions remain stable, but there have been gradual and slight signs of weakness due to the recession in the manufacturing industry.
