  • US indices finished yesterday's trading mixed. S&P 500 dropped 0.41%, Dow Jones added 0.16%, Nasdaq declined 0.99% and Russell 2000 gained 0.84%

  • Stocks in Asia traded mixed. S&P/ASX 200 and Kospi gained, indices from China moved lower and Nikkei traded flat

  • DAX futures point a flat opening of the European session

  • According to worldometers data, over 800 thousand new coronavirus cases were reported yesterday. This is the highest daily figure since January 8, 2021 and the third time daily case count exceeded 800 thousand

  • Coinbase debuted on Nasdaq with a price of $381 per share (reference point - $250). However, shares finished trading at $328.28

  • According to Bloomberg report, United States will impose sanctions on 12 Russian individuals and 20 entities as a punishment for hacks and elections interference. Reuters reported that US may also target Russian sovereign debt

  • Australian employment increased by 70.7k jobs in March (exp. +35.2k) while unemployment rate dropped from 5.8 to 5.6% (exp. 5.7%)

  • Saudi intercepted 2 missiles and 4 drones linked to Houthis. Houthi confirmed they have targeted Saudi Aramco facility with drones and missiles

  • General Motor will halt production in 2 South Korean factories amid semiconductor shortages

  • Precious metals trade higher while oil trades more or less flat

  • NZD and JPY are the best performing major currencies while CHF and AUD lag the most
