Meet Tereza Kovandová , XTB’s Senior Social Media Specialist. In this interview, Tereza shares her XTB journey, from an unexpected recruiter message at a marketing conference in Warsaw to managing social media for the Czech and Slovak markets. She talks about curiosity, experimentation, cross-team collaboration and what it means to work “Together” at XTB.

“Yep, that’s me. You’re probably wondering how I got here.” I’m wondering that too. Fintech always felt like a niche world reserved for people who really know their way around it and yet, here I am. Hi, I’m Tereza, and I take care of XTB’s social media for the Czech and Slovak markets. I haven’t even hit my one-year anniversary at XTB yet, but somehow it already feels like I’ve been here much longer. In the best possible way.

When did you first feel that XTB was the right place for you?

Honestly, I had a good feeling from the very first message. I was at the Meta Marketing Summit in Warsaw when a recruiter reached out to me about an open position. He couldn’t reveal the name of the company yet, but he told me about the industry and hinted that I might spot its logo on one of Warsaw’s skyscrapers. And of course I went to look for it!

Being approached by a Polish company while I was actually in Poland felt almost too perfect to be a coincidence. So, once I got back to Prague, I started looking into it. And eventually, that first message led me all the way to XTB.

Which of XTB values resonates with you the most, and how do you see it reflected in your daily work?

I’m naturally curious, and I never really grew out of asking “Why?”, so it’s Think Deep & Act Fast.

When it comes to content and campaigns, I don’t just want them to look good. I want them to actually work and achieve what they were created to do.

What I really appreciate in my role is that I’m not only given the space to test, experiment and optimize, but actively encouraged to do so. It allows me to keep learning what works, what doesn’t and how to make the next thing better.

What does our claim “Where your money works - Together” mean to you personally?

As a Social Media Specialist, it’s not my job to know the markets inside out. My expertise is social media. How platforms work, what people respond to and how content reaches them.

Financial markets can feel complicated or even inaccessible, so a big part of my role is working closely with our analysts and sales team. They help me understand what matters in the markets and what investors and traders are currently paying attention to, and I then translate that into content that makes sense to a wider audience. In return, I share my knowledge of trends, formats and algorithms, helping them improve the content they create themselves.

That exchange of expertise between teams is what “Together” means to me.

If you had to describe XTB in three words, what would they be?

Fast-paced. Open-minded. Driven.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone joining XTB, what would it be?

Observe, adapt and then innovate. Take the time to understand how things work, learn from the people around you and don’t expect everything to happen overnight. The best ideas often come once you truly understand the environment you’re working in.

In your opinion, what makes XTB culture unique?

I remember it really hit me a few weeks after I joined. I realized I was working in a place where people don’t just happen to work in finance. They genuinely live and breathe it. That level of genuine interest is quite rare. And when you’re surrounded by people who are so invested in what they do, it’s hard not to get pulled into that world yourself.

What do you believe is your superpower, and how do you use it at work?

I think my superpower is spotting patterns and connecting the dots quickly. I can often look at an idea, campaign or problem and immediately sense what works, what doesn’t, or what is still missing. Of course, intuition is only the starting point. I then take a deeper look, work with the data and search for arguments that either confirm my first impression or prove me wrong. At work, it helps me spot quite quickly when something has potential, when something feels off, or when there’s still a piece missing.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

While at work I’m pretty good at seeing things through, that skill gets a little weaker in my personal life. So if you came to my place, you’d probably find quite a few unfinished projects. Half-painted canvases, half-read books and cookbooks, a DJ set still in progress, or rolls of film I still haven’t developed.

I like to call it my hobby renaissance.

I’m definitely more artsy than sporty, but trying new things is a big part of who I am. In the end, I can enjoy pretty much anything as long as there are great people around.
