Number of Fed, ECB and BoE members to speak throughout the day
Futures markets point to a higher opening of the European cash session today. DAX futures currently trade near 12,400 pts - around 1.4% above yesterday's cash close. Improvement in moods can also be spotted on the commodities markets, with USD weakening being the prime driver. Brent and WTI rally over 2% each while gold trades 0.8% higher. Cryptocurrencies also caught a bid with Bitcoin trading above the $20,000 mark and 6% higher on the day.
Economic calendar for today's European session is light. In fact, there are no major macro prints scheduled for release in the first half of the day. Things get more interesting in the afternoon with US durable goods orders for August data (1:30 pm BST) and CB consumer sentiment index for September (3:00 pm BST). However, there are a number of speeches from central bankers scheduled throughout the day and those may keep volatility in the FX markets elevated.
