Speeches from Fed Vice Chair Clarida and ECB President Lagarde
Risk-off moods could have been spotted on the stock exchanges during the Asian session and it does not look like things are about to change with the European open. Futures on the major indices from Western Europe point to a lower opening of today's cash session with DAX futures trading just a touch above 15,000 pts mark. US dollar trades mixed against major peers while NZD and EUR outperform.
While the United States no longer observes a holiday today, the day ahead looks similarly calm as yesterday, at least in terms of data releases. Investors will be offered German ZEW index reading for October at 10:00 am BST as well as a number of speeches from Fed and ECB officials in the early afternoon. Speech from ECB President Lagarde will be a pre-recorded message while speech from Fed Vice Chair Clarida will be on "US Economic Outlook and Monetary Policy".
10:00 am BST - Germany, ZEW index for October. Expected: 24.0. Previous: 26.5
