11:00 am GMT - CBRT rate decision. Turmoil on the Turkish lira market from 1.5 year ago is a distant past and TRY has been much more calm over the past year. As the situation does not require bold actions aimed at halting capital outflows, CBRT continues to lower rates from record high levels. Market expects 75 bp reduction today, from 12% to 11.25%
12:30 pm GMT - ECB minutes. European Central Bank will release an account from the latest policy meeting today. However, it should be noted that the meeting was a non-event as it was the first one presided by Christine Lagarde and she refrained from making any strong statements or actions.
1:30 pm GMT - US, retail sales for December. The US retail sales print is the most important reading scheduled for today. Keep in mind that it will be the data for December - the last month of the end-year shopping season. Market expects headline gauge to show a 0.3% MoM increase (0.2% MoM previously) while reading excluding auto sales is forecasted to jump 0.5% MoM (0.1% MoM previously).
