- Retail Sales: actual -3.2% MoM; forecast -0.5% MoM; previous 1.4% MoM;
- Core Retail Sales: actual -3.3% MoM; forecast -0.6% MoM; previous 1.5% MoM;
- Core Retail Sales: actual -2.1% YoY; forecast 1.3% YoY; previous 0.5% YoY;
December retail sales data from the UK came in much worse than analysts' expectations. Sales fell -3.2% in MoM terms. In response, we are seeing a dynamic weakening of the GBP.
