BREAKING: USD gains after upbeat claims data

The number of Americans filling for unemployment benefits was 0.222 million in the week ended November 27, compared to 0.194 million reported in the previous week. Today’s reading came in below market expectations of 0.240 million.

Continuing claims reading, which lags initial jobless claims data by one week, dropped to 1.956 million from 2,063 million, while analysts expected a decrease to 2.000 million.
