Economic calendar: Earnings reports from US majors

8:30 am GMT - Sweden, retail sales for December. Expected: -0.5% MoM. Previous: -0.4% MoM

1:00 pm GMT - Hungarian National Bank rate decision. Expected: 0.90%. Previous: 0.90%

1:30 pm GMT - US, durable good orders for December. Preliminary durable goods orders print is the first major piece of US hard data to be released this week (GDP report to be released on Thursday). It is expected that the reading will show headline measure jumping 0.4% MoM (-2.1% MoM previously) and core gauge increasing 0.3% MoM (-0.1% MoM previously). Core gauge excludes transportation orders.

3:00 pm GMT - US, CB conference board and Richmond manufacturing index for January. University of Michigan sentiment data for January showed sentiment being unchanged in spite of an expected deterioration. However, CB consumer confidence index is expected to move higher in January - from 126.5 to 128 pts. Richmond Fed index that will be released simultaneously is forecasted to recover from -5 to -3 pts.

9:40 pm GMT - API report on oil inventories. Expected: +0.9 mb. Previous: +1.6 mb

Asian session

0:30 am GMT - Australia, CPI inflation for Q4 2019. Expected: 0.6% QoQ. Previous: 0.5% QoQ
