Economic calendar: Earnings reports in the spotlight

  • RBA Governor Lowe and ECB President Lagarde to speak today

  • Czech National Bank expected to leave rates unchanged

Economic calendar is exceptionally light today with only some second tier US data scheduled for release. Apart from that, CNB will announce rate decision but no change is expected. Traders should expect today’s moves to be built around news headlines. Earnings may play a role during the US session.

1:30 pm GMT - US, nonfarm productivity for Q4. Expected: 1.5% QoQ. Previous: -0.2% QoQ.

1:30 pm GMT - US, initial jobless claims. Expected: 215k. Previous: 216k
