• European stock markets set for a lower opening

• FOMC minutes in the spotlight today

• Retail sales from the US  at 1:30 pm BST

Futures markets are pointing to a slightly lower opening of the European cash session, however volatility is rather low as traders wait for releases of retail sales data from the US at 1:30 pm BST and FOMC minutes at 7:00 pm BST. Minutes could offer fresh clues on the central bank's rate hike path.
