Economic calendar: Light macro calendar amid closed session on Wall Street

  • Trading on spot US stock market is halted today due to Juneteenth national holiday. Nasdaq and NYSE will reopen tomorrow
  • Despite on that trading on US futures (US100, US500, US30, US2000) and TNOTE will be available until 5 PM GMT today
  • Futures on European stocks point to lower opening despite good sentiments on yesterday US session and today's APAC markets
  • Very light calendar on both European and US market session. Markets wait for the US NAHB Index and BoC minutes

Today, global markets will not react to any important macro readings because of the very light economic calendar. The most important data published today was United Kingdom inflation at 6 AM GMT. Inflation in the United Kingdom came in line with expectations in both CPI and core CPI measures. Now investors are looking forward to Eurozone construction output reading, US NAHB housing index and BoC minutes which may signal a higher volatility for the USDCAD pair.
