Fed Chair will head to Congress today for the second day of semi-annual testimonies. Powell said yesterday that the US economy is in a very good place and that Fed is closely monitoring coronavirus outbreak. Central banker said that he does not see recession on the horizon.
3:30 pm GMT - DOE report on oil inventories. API estimates released yesterday signalled a massive 6 million build in crude oil inventories. However, the oil market ignored this reading and kept marching higher as investors hope that Russia will express its willingness for deeper output cuts. Having said that, today’s release may be overlooked as well. Gasoline inventories are expected to increase while distillates should decline.
