Economic calendar: US data and earnings in the spotlight

  • European markets seen opening flat

  • Retail sales and industrial production for the US

  • US retailers - Walmart, Home Depot, Kohl's - report earnings

European futures dropped during the overnight trade but are regaining ground ahead of the cash session open. DAX futures point to a flat opening of the session already. There are some noteworthy releases scheduled for today, including US retail sales and industrial production for October. Both are expected to rise on a month-over-month basis. Apart from that, 3 US retailers will report earnings before the session opens while NIO will report after the closing bell.

1:30 pm GMT - US, retail sales for October.

  • Headline. Expected: 0.5% MoM. Previous: 1.9% MoM

  • Ex-auto. Expected: 0.6% MoM. Previous: 1.5% MoM

2:15 pm GMT - US, industrial production for October. Expected: 0.8% MoM. Previous: -0.6% MoM

9:40 pm GMT - API report on oil inventories. Expected: +0.3 mb
