Economic calendar: US data and Wall Street earnings

7:38 AM 13 May 2021
  • European markets expected to open lower

  • US PPI data in the spotlight

  • Walt Disney and Alibaba Group among today's earnings reporters

European futures markets point to a big bearish price gap at the launch of today's cash trading. Stocks from the Old Continent are seen deepening downward move, just as it was the case for US and Asian equities.

While PPI inflation data rarely triggers big market moves, today's release will be watched closely following yesterday's CPI reading. Acceleration in producers' inflation may hint that consumer inflation will continue to rise. Apart from that, investors will be offered a regular jobless claims data. Results from Alibaba Group, Walt Disney and Blink Charging are among key earnings reports to watch today.
