- Building permits. Actual: 1.416 million. Expected: 1.435 million. Previous: 1.413 million
- Housing starts. Actual: 1.401 million. Expected: 1.400 million. Previous: 1.420 million
The US housing starts and permits for future construction continue to stabiliz in April. Housing starts came nearly as expected and building permits lower than expected. Both data came lower compared to the previous month. Despite this, the housing market is still much weaker than it was just over a year ago. As it can be noticed on the chart,some cooling on the housing market shuold be expected in the near future.
