- European indices set to open lower
- German IFO index for December, ECB speakers
- BoJ and CBRT rate decision, RBA minutes later into the week
European index futures point to a slightly lower opening of today's cash session on the Old Continent. This comes after Wall Street indices snapped a 6-day winning streak on Friday and indices from Asia-Pacific traded lower during the session earlier today. USD is pulling back, providing support for precious metals. Antipodean currencies (AUD and NZD) are top perfomers among G10 currencies. Newsflow so far was light with no major, market-moving headlines surfacing over the Asian session.
Economic calendar for today is light, with German survey data being the only release of note. However, things get more interesting later into the week with BoJ and CBRT rate decision, RBA minutes and US PCE inflation data.
