As the election draws closer, we present three key maps for the US midterm elections.
Although voting in the US takes many forms, and interest in postal voting has increased recently (which supported Democrats in previous elections), the vast majority of people go to the polls. In some states, voting ends at 6:00 p.m. GMT local time at the earliest. The most important states, however, are Georgia and Nevada where voting ends at (00:00 GMT) and (03:00 GMT) respectively. The key fight will be for the Senate. Although the probability of a takeover of the upper house by Republicans is estimated at 70%, there is still a chance for a surprise. The vast majority of elections take place in republican states, hence there is still a lot of uncertainty. The key states are Georgia and Nevada. Nevertheless, in these states there may be an extension of the elections, which will take place in December. Source: 270towin
Red dominates the map, but of course, around New York or California, we have very small districts where a lot of congressmen come from. However, it seems that a Republican victory is almost certain, even if all fluctuating districts were taken over by Democrats. Source: 270towin
